1. About these terms
Washday is a product of Techytal Design Agency Limited (RC-1903234), a company registered in Nigeria, of 1, Obadina Steet, Abule Oja Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. In these documents, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Techytal Design Agency Limited, trading as Washday.
By booking, paying, opening an account or wallet, or otherwise using Washday, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. What we do — and what the laundry does
Washday is a platform. The laundries on it are independent businesses. When you book or drop off clothes, your contract for the laundry service is with that laundry, which is responsible for:
- cleaning and caring for your items, and the quality of the work;
- its prices, turnaround times, opening hours and service rules;
- loss of or damage to your items while in its care, under its own policy and the law;
- its riders, and deliveries it arranges.
We provide the software, the storefronts and directory, payment processing through Paystack, order updates, and help between you and the laundry when something goes wrong.
3. Your account
- You confirm your phone number with a one-time code. Keep your phone secure — anyone with it can use your account.
- Give accurate details (name, address, phone). You must be at least 18.
- You can download your data or delete your account at any time in My account.
4. Booking, prices and estimates
- Online bookings may show an estimate. The final price is set when the laundry checks your items; you pay only for confirmed items.
- Prices are fixed when your order is confirmed. Later price changes don't affect it.
- Pickup and delivery fees are shown before you book. If a courier (like Chowdeck or GIG) is used, their price is shown at booking and added to your bill.
- Check pockets and point out stains, damage or special care when you hand items over. Items with no care label are cleaned at your risk unless the laundry agrees otherwise.
5. Paying
- You can pay the laundry in person (cash, POS, transfer), online through Paystack (card, bank transfer, USSD), or from your wallet.
- Online payments include Paystack's processing fee, shown before you pay.
- Text-message fee: while an order is unpaid, each SMS update about it adds ₦10 to the bill. Updates on WhatsApp are free, and once you've paid in full no more SMS fees are added.
- An online payment counts only when Paystack confirms it to us — not when the browser says so.
- A laundry may ask for payment before cleaning starts.
6. Collection, delivery and handover codes
Each order has a 4-digit handover code (also shown as a QR code). Give it only to the person who should receive your clothes; the rider needs it to complete a delivery. Uncollected items are handled under the laundry's policy.
7. Cancellations and refunds
- You can ask the laundry to cancel an order before work starts. After that, cancellation is at the laundry's discretion.
- Refunds for laundry work are decided by the laundry under its policy and the law. Money paid from a wallet for a cancelled order goes straight back into your wallet.
- If you're unhappy, message the laundry from My account → Help. If it isn't resolved, choose “Washday team” and we'll help.
8. Wallets, loyalty points, promo codes and plans
- Wallets are covered by the Wallet Terms.
- Loyalty points, promo codes and subscription plans are offered by each laundry, have no cash value, and can only be used with that laundry under its rules.
9. Fair use
Don't misuse the service — for example by giving false details, booking without intending to use the laundry, abusing staff or riders, trying to access other people's data, or interfering with the platform. We may suspend accounts that do.
10. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Washday available and accurate, but it's provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for the laundry's service or for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid through the platform for the order concerned. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law (including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018).
11. Changes, law and disputes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and significant changes will be announced in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We'll try to settle any dispute informally first; if we can't, the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction.
